It's difficult for Australia to set fresh records.

The greatest achievements have been successfully scaled.

We're talking about the squad that has claimed seven Cricket World Cups, plus six more T20 titles, and earlier maintained 1,294 days unbeaten in 50-over cricket.

The remaining milestones, the ones sought by the record chasers, are all that remain for a team that has accomplished all there is.

The fact it required as late as Sunday's victory by three wickets over India for them to complete their first ODI chase exceeding 300, reclaiming their record for the highest in women's cricket's 50-over format, is, frankly, a compliment to the bowling attack that have worn canary yellow over the last half-century.

It is hard for their hitters to maintain a record if not provided the chance.

Finally, the outcome of Australia giving up 330 runs was leader Alyssa Healy getting a platform to deliver her latest masterpiece.

Initially recognized as the 19-year-old niece of celebrated previous Aussie wicketkeeper Ian, she debuted in 2010 after her country couldn't capture either of the 20 or 50-over World Cups held the previous year and has seen it all through 15 successful years since.

Success in the T20 World Cup came three months after her first appearance and seven international trophies have resulted from 10 tries across formats.

The tough gloveman was also there in Derby in 2017 when a semi-final setback by India briefly halted the successful run.

That loss "drove us to rethink our standards," Healy commented earlier.

At the following one-day championship in New Zealand, Healy scored 170 against England in the title decider and was awarded tournament MVP. She guaranteed her country would not fail again.

The question of whether this newest brilliant performance topped that previous effort is debatable.

Some will argue the case for championship match pressure. Others can counter with the challenge that comes when facing a record target and an enthusiastic Indian fanbase of 20,000.

What is certain is this hundred was much more difficult to predict.

The New Zealand onslaught in 2022 occurred when she topped the run-scoring charts, but this performance came after six matches in India over the past few weeks in which she had been unable to reach 30.

"If you've observed me in the nets, it's been a frustrating experience because I feel like I lacked timing whatsoever," commented Healy.

"But once you enter the playing area, your fighting spirit activate and you completely engage with the competition."

Healy's fighting spirit has continuously been her major advantage - and an invaluable trait in succeeding legendary former captain Meg Lanning.

She was troubled by India's rising star Kranti Gaud in recent ODI series, fallen to the emerging pace bowler in all three matches, but this time it merely gave Healy's inspiration.

A single came off the bowler's initial ball and from there Healy was in motion.

"An opportunity to go out there and lock in a contest with her and merely enjoy the moment that way, somewhat inspired me," stated Healy.

She achieved fifty in 35 pitches - her swiftest at the global tournament - and her hundred in 84 as she punished short deliveries, scoring 21 fours and three big hits.

Once she was out her side required another 66 at one run per ball - a manageable total now needing a comfortable finish.

"To chase 330 is new territory so I am glad we have the belief to do that now," continued Healy.

"Preferably we shouldn't have to repeat it but, should it happen, we know we can succeed."

That comment will be the ultimate thing competing nations at this tournament need to hear.

Over the past five days a belief they will win from any position has grown stronger - this success following victory over Pakistan by 107 run margin despite sitting at 76-7 at one point.

Following this Australia face Bangladesh before an encounter with old rivals England in Indore in a week and a half, by which point a last-four spot may probably be guaranteed.

During that phase they left the previous year's T20 World Cup in a surprising setback by South Africa - a match Healy couldn't play because of damaged tissue in her foot as she guided Australia for the first time at a significant event.

So great is her will, she subsequently stated she wanted to have participated with the discomfort.

But while she subsequently acknowledged those fitness problems have pushed back thoughts of retirement, this championship is expected to be her concluding event as leader in ODI cricket and she is yet to win a global event as captain.

Success in India would take her to the summit of her final mountain.
